IV Hydration

Intravenous (IV) infusion therapy is used to safely and rapidly distribute and replenish vitamins, nutrients, and electrolytes into your bloodstream.

In pregnancy, IV hydration is known to help with significant morning sickness and Hyperemesis Gravidarum (HG), to restore lost fluids

Process

To request a IV Hydration, the process is as follows:

See your GP or Hospital Doctor
Have them complete an IV fluid Order Form and prescribe any IV Medication to be infused (all IV fluids supplied - CSL or NS 0.9%)
Contact The Midwifery Centre to request an infusion the Contact page

The costs for a IV infusion is $100 per infusion.

This includes infusion of up to 2L of fluid and administration of any prescribed mediations as directed by your Doctor
